
Nevra Akdemir
Dr. Nevra Akdemir, an academic in exile from Turkey, specializes in labor geography, urban studies, gender, and migration. She earned her Ph.D. in urban studies from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, focusing on the effects of economic development and urban transformation on labor, with a particular emphasis on precarious and informal work environments. After completing postdoctoral research at Osnabrück University, she extended her research at Off-University, exploring the intersection of food and displacement. In addition to her academic endeavors, she regularly writes columns on economic and political issues and is actively involved in the migrant women’s movement. She also maintains a strong interest in design.
