Dr. Ömer Alkin
Dr. Ömer Alkin, media and cultural scholar, is currently project leader of the research project ‘Aesthetics of Occidentalism’ which is hosted by the Institute for Media Studies at Philipps University Marburg, and funded by the German Research Foundation. In addition to his academic activities, he is active in the field of filmmaking and intercultural education. His publications revolve around issues such as film, migration, racism, Islam and audiovisual culture, global identity politics such as occidentalism and postmigration.
