Zeynep Sibel Basaran

Jurist, attorney, musician, performer, queer feminist.

After 17 years of working in the field of law and art in Turkey, the country where she was born and raised, she was forced to move to Frankfurt. She continues to practice her music in Frankfurt as well. She is one of the founders of a music group called Banda Mahalla. She sings the songs of the oppressed, marginalized, and resisting people, and supports those who resist with her songs. Her repertoire includes political and feminist songs from different parts of the world, from different cultures and languages.

In addition to her work in the field of law, she continues to conduct self-empowerment and self-defense training for women and queer individuals.
